We have been not expecting anything as it was our first cruise ever...saying that, we don't think that there was anything that needs improving vastly. Staff was very friendly and helpful, food was plentiful and always good with plenty of choices for everyone. Cabin was clean and comfortable,
serviced at least twice a day. Entertainment outstanding. The staff was trying their very best with a smile and nothing was too much. As it goes for pricing...there are many different deals out there and it pays to shop around. It was a great cruise and we are wanting to go again soon
I would love to say what a beautiful experience I had on this ship cruising around my country by sea. the crew always smiled and greeted me like I was important .
My cabin was a good size with a balcony I loved it and the bed was cosy
. The boy who cleaned my room was so attentive and friendly he was very spotless thank you.
I loved all the entertainment I could see the most beautiful costumes and crew dancing and singing wow
was so impressive.
The captain well I enjoyed his consultation with us passengers he was awesome. The price of my trip was well worth it. I intend to come again next year with friends .I am going to advertise your amazing ship and voyage to everyone on my facebook.
The positives. The cabin was small but well laid out and very clean. The bed was across the cabin so you could sit up in bed and look at the water through the port light. The bathroom was the best laid out that I had seen. Small but sliding doors to the shower and toilet areas.
There is a place where you can view the ship's bridge through a large window. A great idea.
The big negative was that on embarking in Brisbane for a short two night sail to Sydney we were not told that the ship was on Sydney time. So turned up at 7:50pm for a meal at one of the main restaurants only to be told it closed in 10 minutes at the time was really 8:50pm! Very rushed and pretty average Chinese meal in the Asian restaurant. We like Asian food and this was not good. Next night was better at the Western Restaurant but because it was booked out early we had to go later and we missed most of the show which did look pretty good when we saw the last 15 minutes. Our fault I guess for not booking.
We were offered welcome drinks of blue very sweet cordial which were terrible.
No nice intimate bars just a couple of large areas with entertainment. Nicest little intimate space on deck 7 was for smokers. Yes, there are smoking areas inside the ship I guess to account for the large Chinese clientele. There was one or two groups that were pretty good but nowhere near as enjoyable as P&O, Princess and Royal Caribbean cruses I have been on.
There is a mixture of international service staff which is normal but as it is a very Chinese focused company a lot of the service staff were Chinese so whilst everything was efficiently handled but there was not a lot of smiles. This seems to permeate the other non Chinese staff where as normally they exude fun.
Apart from The Palm Bar entertainment area I did not really like the layout of the ship but perhaps this is common on larger cruise ships.
Not terrible buy a long shot but it would not be my pick cruise company again.
Partner and I just experienced 7 night Australian Explorer Sydney - Sydney cruise on Explorer Dream. The price at $699 for interior cabin was great. The cabin was the tiniest cabin we have had on a cruise - in saying that, beds were very comfy, wardrobe was good size as well as bathroom and room was
very clean. Of 1850 passenger capacity, we heard there was around 480 passengers on board! Why, when there would have been many empty cabins, didn't Dream Cruises upgrade people to balconies - they were empty anyway. Would have been nice. There was very little atmosphere due to lack of passengers. There were some good bands, Crossover Band and Major Impact Band, that were playing to very small crowds. Only played in 45min sets, then there was nothing to do. We got the premium drinks package ($79/day) - good value considering that seemed to waive the 18% service charge plus 10% GST that was on top otherwise. Drinks were reasonably priced, but charges made them not so. Drink service was fairly slow, but cocktails were very good. The food was poor, both in Lido Buffet and Dream Dining. The pizza (not inclusive) was very nice. The cannot cook bacon - how they made bacon like jerky I will never know! Coffee was poor also. Really nice pool area - was very quiet and no trouble getting a deck chair. The magic show with Vincent Vignaud was not to our liking - he was over the top and the show called 'spirits' was unusual to say the least. The entertainment staff worked so hard to get things going, but when there are so few people on board it is very hard. We found the service staff to be as good as any other cruise line - friendly and very helpful. Dream Cruises cater more to their Asian clientele, making others feel like intruders. I don't know if they will come back to Australia next year.
This was our very first cruise, on board the Pacific Dawn, and our very first holiday outside of Australia.
With our 10th Wedding Anniversary pending, we thought we would give this cruising thing ago, and we are hooked.
The Hubby and I have not stopped raving about how good it was to our friends & family who've never cruised.
Count down is on for the next one back to the Islands with P&O on board the Pacific Aria from Brisbane 18th October.
I found the ship had plenty of stuff to do on board, and places to go and sit back and relax. As first timers we didn't know what to expect when going on shore. This cruise we will be making the most of the shore tours that available. I will be the one embarrassing the hubby with the DIY cruise shirts i will be making haha.
The Britannia is an excellent ship & the staff so friendly & helpful. i had a disc slip while on the cruise & I was given 1st class treatment,. When my bow tie fell apart I could not sort out how to fix it and put it on a helpful person in the gents clothing shop fixed it for me and actually put it
on for me. The restaurants were excellent & we had freedom dining which really suited us. The cabin balcony was just suoerb. We went on many P&O excursions & they were all very good. we have seen Britannia in Southampton since & felt home sick. The entertainment was so varied & there was always so much to see & do. Live music or live theatre. If you want you could eat for 22 hours in every day, there is always some where to eat that is open. Everwhere is so clean. If you want to go to the Gym it is also excellent. On such a large boat the passengers are so spread out so there is loads of space on the decks and restaurants. Only at the 'farewell' does everybody congregate together around the main pool & only then do you reallise how many people are actually on the boat.
From booking (nearly 18months in advance) to debarking at the end of an amazing holiday, I simply have no complaints.
Booking was a breeze and the staff at CruiseSaleFinder were great.
Value for money - it doesn’t get much better than a cruise. This cruise gave us not only a high quality holiday for less, but a great way of taking our hotel to several destinations!
Boarding was easy, FTTF making it even easier (as you’re largely treated like a VIP) and once onboard we proceeded to make ourselves right at home.
The ship itself was well maintained and great to explore with several themed areas onboard.
Shows were top notch and the crew were great.
Cruise Director Eli was awesome and really helped to make this a memorable holiday.
Our destinations were excellent, but Noumea on a Sunday can be a little underwhelming after the delights of Maré, Mystery Island and Lifou.
We had a quad obstructed view cabin (4127) and I’d happily book this again.
Highly recommended and will be remembered for a long long time.
this ship suits us - we are rather oldies!
eg a comprehensive, categorised library,
not just a few books in a cupboard - what ship was that? - better forgotten
